Diego is a recent college graduate from the University of Miami in Florida. He graduated with a B.A. in Anthropology and Geological Sciences with a minor in Biology. His main focus was museum studies and natural history, with a passion for education. He has worked from different spectra of natural sciences and history, from lemur field studies to geological digs to study and map Pliocene fossils, from studying the basics of the ancient civilizations of Mesoamerica to the many minerals and rocks that make our Earth. He plans on pursuing a job in informal science and history education within a museum or zoo. Going to museums and zoos inspired his love for science, so he wants to give that back. He's currently an intern with the Walt Disney Company.
During his undergraduate, he was very involved with UM's LGBTQ+ scene. He was a general and board member of the undergraduate organization, SpectrUM. He is also the founder of UM's oSTEM chapter. He is now a regional coordinator for oSTEM. During his free time, you can find him playing Pokémon, exploring whatever city he resides in, kayaking, or bundled up in front of a Disney movie.
