She is passionate about helping others, advocating for those with invisible disabilities, and creating inclusive environments for all intersecting identities. Erika has worked extensively with the LGBTQ+ support office (Spectrum Center) at the University of Michigan to plan events, such as its LGBTQ+ Health and Wellness Week.
At school, Erika is the marketing and membership director for the Society of Women Engineers, and works toward creating an inclusive environment in STEM for all people. Additionally, she is part of the University of Michigan's Counseling and Psychological Services Student Advisory Board, where she helps to create and promote mental health and well-being, and advises the University on how to be more inclusive and supportive of students with mental health challenges.
Whether walking dogs at the local animal shelter or running engineering activities for a local girl scout troop, Erika strives to give back to the community and create a more understanding world. She hopes to help the oSTEM Diversity and Inclusion team continue its efforts to support all members through the education of others.
