6th Annual oSTEM Conference - FAQ


General Conference:

  • When is the 2016 Annual Conference?
    • November 11 - 13, 2016.
  • Where is the 2016 Annual Conference?
    • Hyatt Regency Denver Tech Center (7800 E Tufts Ave, Denver, CO 80237)
    • You can use this link to reserve a hotel room in the oSTEM block. To ensure that you have a spot at the conference, we highly recommend registering for the conference prior to booking your hotel accommodations.
  • What is the dress code?
    • Dress code is business or business casual for sessions and business for the Career and Graduate School Expo.
  • What do I need to bring to the conference?
    • If you plan to attend the Career and Graduate School Expo bring copies of your resume and/or CV. 
  • Is there a conference schedule available?
    • You can access a tentative conference schedule here. We will continue to make updates to the schedule as we get closer to the conference and have additional details about the specific programming being offered this year.

Registration:

  • When does registration close?
    • Registration closes October 21, 2016.
  • Do I have to be part of oSTEM or an oSTEM chapter to register?
    • No, we offer non-member rates.
  • I'm part of an oSTEM chapter but it says I need a code to register, where do I get this code?
    • Your Chapter President should have the code to register in their oSTEM email. If your President has not received a code, have them contact membership@ostem.org.
  • What is the refund and/or cancellation policy? 
    • For cancellations on or before October 1, 2016, 50% of the registration will be refunded. 
      For cancellations after October 1, 2016, no refund will be issued. You may swap your registration with a non-registered individual for no charge but you must handle any exchange of payment on your own. All refunds will be made four weeks after the oSTEM Conference is over. Any request to cancel or swap registration must be requested via email at conference-logistics@ostem.org.


Travel & Transportation:

  • What is the closest airport to the conference venue?
    • Denver International Airport (DEN)
  • Are there any travel discounts for the conference?
  • What are the ground transportation options from the airport to the hotel?

Lodging:

  • Is there a preferred conference hotel?
    • The conference venue and the preferred hotel are the same this year:

  • Where can I make a reservation?
    • You can use this link to reserve a hotel room in the oSTEM block. To ensure that you have a spot at the conference, we highly recommend registering for the conference prior to booking your hotel accommodations.
  • When does the hotel block close?
    • The hotel block closes on the same day as registration – October 21, 2016.
  • Can oSTEM connect me with other people who want to room together to lower hotel costs?
    • Yes, there is an option to be matched with roommates in the registration process. Please wait to be contacted by a member of the oSTEM team prior to booking hotel accommodations if you want to be matched with a roommate.
  • What are the hotel rates?
    • All rates below are per night and are subject to applicable taxes (~14.75%) and fees:
      • $109 (single and double occupancy), $134 (triple occupancy), $159 (quad occupancy)
