2017 oSTEM / Maven / QTC Chicago Hack 4 Queer Youth

Each year Maven hosts an annual Hack 4 Queer Youth Hackathon in partnership with local LGBT+ nonprofits. This year Maven is partnering with oSTEM and Queer Tech Club! The hackathon is being hosted at the Microsoft Office in Chicago, IL on November 16th and 17th (Thursday and Friday).

How does this hackathon work?

At the hackathon, we will form teams of 2-4 people (balancing experience and skill) to build an app, game, or other technology that solves a challenge for queer youth. Teams will meet on Thursday evening to understand the problems that we'll be tackling, will work all-day Friday to build out their solution, and present to a panel of judges. An awards reception and dinner will follow where the winning teams will be announced!
