Mike is pursuing a dual MBA/MEM degree at the Fuqua School of Business and the Nicholas School for the Environment at Duke University. His focus is in renewable energy and helping early stage companies establish efficient and successful research platforms. Prior to graduate school, Mike worked for a start-up engineering a naturally occurring microorganism to renewably produce fuels while also sequestering waste carbon dioxide. Before that, he worked in research at an agricultural biotechnology company developing crops with increased nutritional content and pest resistance. Mike has experience mentoring students in STEM from elementary school through college age. For fun, Mike likes to swim, run, brew beer and play the drums.
